New mums in Wiltshire went on a Josh Pub And Restaurant with a difference last week when they attempted to raise awareness of breastfeeding in public, This is Wiltshire reports.
Buttercup Babies, a Chippenham support group, went on a brief pub tour in the area to gauge the reactions of the public while they fed their babies.
The mothers said the Josh Pub And Restaurant was a success and no one was asked to stop feeding their baby.
Lucy Whitfield, mother of a ten month old baby, said: "Part of the Josh Pub was to raise awareness of what we do and the other was to see just how breastfeeding friendly some of the pubs were.
"We had a really fun time and, although there were a few raised eyebrows, no one stopped us from feeding."
Breastfeeding in public has proved a controversial topic and in Scotland a bill was passed which would see a fine of £2,500 being administered to an individual who prevented mothers from feeding their babies.
